On Friday of Spring Break we took a family trip to Picacho Peak State Park.
That spider climbing frame was so cute!
Then we hiked the children's trail up to a little cave.
It was pretty overcast (so thankfully we didn't have to worry about sunburn) but stayed dry for us.
Then we drove to the other end of the park and investigated the beginning of the trail that goes right up to the peak.
One day we'd like to return without the little kids and go all the way to the top.
After a little lesson about why we should not throw rocks or break rocks off the mountain, Anna took it upon herself to "fix" the mountain all by herself (you can see her handiwork below). Meanwhile Jakob, our little mountain goat, explored some more.
Next we stopped at the Memorial loop. The whole reason we came to Picacho Peak was that Jakob wanted to see it after learning about it in Social Studies. It is the site of a Civil War battle! Who knew?!
Finally we strolled, I mean, hiked the Nature Trail.
It was a beautiful day!

I LOVE the pic of the kids sitting on the bug or something. I also like your family picture. You are so talented at picture taking Jarod.

Hi guys, all beautiful pics. Pretty park-where is that? I loved the picture of the 3 kids sitting on something behind each other. They are such sweethearts, and they take great pictures.
I ventured down a week or two ago...loved the wildflowers and just how green the mountain was. Love your family, too! Thanks for what you add to my world!
